Hi-Tec Systems was awarded a contract in Aviation Security to study Human Factors in June, 2002. The contract was issued by the FAA for a five year term. To date there have been four Delivery Orders issued under this IDIQ contract: (1) Security Optimization Human Factors (SOPHIE 1); (2) SOFHIE 2; (3) Cargo Screening; and (4) Time On Task. Hi-Tec has two subcontractors, Booz Allen Hamilton and Veridian, as its team members available to be used for work under this contract. The main focus of this contract is on the processes, procedures and the overall human interface in the pursuit of the goal to address prospective terrorist threats associated with air travel.
