Hi-Tec Systems, Inc. is helping the U.S. Government meet imperative homeland security and national defense needs within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Our support extends from the Transportation Security Lab (TSL) at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City to DHS headquarters in Washington, DC. We provide support for all modes of transportation including aviation, rail, maritime and port Security.

For the TSL, we provided Facility Operations, Program Management, Human Factors, System Engineering, research and development support. Hi-Tec supports laboratory set up and configuration for test and evaluation of Explosives Detection Systems, Explosive Trace Detection Devices, TIP Ready X-rays (TRX), and other security technologies being certified for deployment in all commercial airports in the United States. Hi-Tec provides hardware installation, configuration management, and property management support in tracking all government and vendor-owned security systems and support equipment. We provide Program Management Professionals (PMP) perform program planning and scheduling, develop cost Estimates and track and report on performance through the use of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) in support of a multitude of activities. We provide research and development, prototype development, test and evaluation, and deployment of systems designed to detect explosives and other threat objects to prevent their being carried aboard or placed on various modes of transportation including aircraft, vessels, trucks, ferries, buses, rail cars, etc. We provide Human Factors professionals that do research, development, test, and evaluation of explosive and weapons detection technology by optimizing human-machine interface for security systems. Hi-Tec’s personnel develop, design, conduct, analyze and are otherwise involved in the HF Laboratory’s numerous programs to examine “human in the loop” issues in the development, test, and evaluation of security technologies.

For the DHS Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate in Washington, DC we provide solutions in Human Factors, System Engineering, Program Management, Test and Evaluation, Vulnerability & Risk Analysis, Developmental, Operational & Acceptance Testing in passenger and cargo screening.

For DHS-HQ Office of Operations Coordination. we assist with development of budget and financial management processes and procedures, and fully participate in budget formulation and execution work. Participate in evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the present financial management process and participate in developing and implementing alternatives. Provide technical, administrative and mechanical support in development, extraction, analysis, and reporting of budget and financial information from myriad DHS systems.

For the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in Washington, DC we provide operational test and evaluation support to develop metrics for effectiveness, suitability and other performance standards for a wide variety of security and detection devices. Hi-Tec conducts independent testing, data collection, evaluation, and analysis for transportation security equipment for aviation, rail, ferry, maritime and port applications. Hi-Tec also conducts special studies to address a variety of issues related to research and development, acquisition and deployment. Hi-Tec’s work involves evaluation of a wide array of new security technologies including Millimeter Wave, Automated Explosive Detection Systems, Trace Detectors, Whole Body Imagers, Remote Standoff Detectors, Cargo Screening Systems and others.
